The 27th Anniversary Convention of the Association of Professional Bankers – Sri Lanka, would be held on 29-30 October at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. The theme is ‘Innovate to win’, which is a highly appropriate imperative for bankers as a source of sustainable competitive advantage. Technical sessions would be held on 30 October, under the following four sub-themes, addressed by renowned speakers from the banking industry and corporate world:
1) Information Technology – Challenges in utilising the digital developments as a powerful enabler in innovation.
The session will deliberate on how to compete, how to meet changing and future financial services requirements of the customers and optimising resources.
2) Innovation – The product suite and the service offering
The topic will discuss the evolving fundamental changes to the product and service offering of banks, where the core role of banks would remain intact, whilst meeting the demands of innovation.
3) Regulation and compliance
This sub-theme will address the ever important area of cybercrime, information technology audit skills, the stringent standards of governance required when innovation takes place.
4) Developing an innovative organisational culture
The session will focus on one of the most crucial assets of the banking industry, ‘Human Resource’ (HR). How HR innovation enables banks to deliver superior performance through competitive advantage, would be the focal point of the topic.
