Over 40 local and international speakers will gather at the Colombo International Maritime Conference-CIMC.
Maritime experts and policy makers from Japan, North America, Europe, UK, China, Philippines, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will deliberate development of the industry and the future. The conference will feature subjects related to, ships, container industry, ports and terminals, regulatory aspects, global markets, auto logistics, bunkering, cruise tourism, logistics, innovations and new ideas.
This is the first-ever Maritime Week that the Government has declared in line with the World Maritime Day under the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Colombo International Maritime Conference is the first international conference that the shipping sector has organised to promote Sri Lanka as an emerging global hub. No other conference has attracted such a number of speakers, the conference will be attended by over 400 local and international delegates and will be inaugurated by Speaker Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya who is a chartered shipbroker himself along with Minister of Ports and Shipping Arjuna Ranatunga together with a distinguished gathering.
