Excellence awards for academia in universities

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) which consists of Vice- Chancellors of 19 Universities and Rectors of 3 Campuses confer the CVCD Excellence Awards once every 2 years since 2006 to recognize, appreciate and honor the outstanding contributions and accomplishments in research,

innovation and invention b the staff in the University system. The 4th CVCD Excellence Awards Ceremony is scheduled to be held in late November this year.

Three categories of awards will be conferred i.e The Outstanding Senior Researcher and The Most Outstanding Young Researcher in six fields of study and The Most outstanding Inventor.

The CVCD has already issued a notice to all Universities. Campuses and Higher Education Institutes calling applications up to 31st July, 2012 from the staff of the University system. Final selection of the awards will be made by the CVCD based on the recommendations of the Panels of Judges. Candidates who wish to send their applications are requested to contact the Vice Chancellor of the respective University or Rector of the Campus.
