Benku Ridma 2017, the variety entertainment in which performing artistes drawn from the banking profession come together to present a most enjoyable show of music, dance and drama will be held on 18 February at the Bishops College Auditorium.
Benku Ridma which was first staged last year was a tremendous success and resulted in a clamour by a large number of artistes in the banking sector for opportunities to take part in future editions of the show. In view of this overwhelming response it was decided to enlist the cooperation of a panel of reputed artistes to select the performers at this year’s show.
Benku Ridma is yet another event organized by the Association of Professional Bankers Sri Lanka, an organisation representing banking professionals, established in 1988. The APB hopes to foster friendship and fellow feeling among the banking community and to enhance their aesthetic sense by this cultural event.
“Banking is quite a serious activity but we have highly talented, versatile men and women in the banking service. Benku Ridma provides an excellent opportunity for them to show how such artistry can enrich our lives,” said Shashi Kandambi Jassim, President of the APB, Sri Lanka.
Sisira Kumara, Assistant Secretary and Special Events Committee Chairman of the APB, said that it was a difficult task for the selection panel to decide on the best performers from among the large number of remarkable volunteers.
Over 700 members of the banking community including CEOs and senior management and their families will attend the show.
Tickets for the show may be purchased from the APB secretariat by contacting 011-2055318 on the phone.
