WSS AMB recognises the best office in 2012

Wilhelmsen Ships Service Sri Lanka has been declared as the best office for 2012 within Africa, Middle East & Black Sea (AMB) region which includes the Indian Sub-continent too, , during the AOP workshop held in Doha, Qatar recently.

Since 2007, the offices within the region have been recognised for their exceptional performance.

This year’s qualification criteria were: Number of new business opportunities during the year 2012; Customer feedback; Emphasis on expansion and growth- opportunities being explored on a regular basis; Pro-activeness across business streams/ market segments; Continuously participating area, regional and corporate requirements/ projects; Thinking all the time that we are a global company;

Financial KPIs including regular follow up on receivables showing a reducing trend;

HR/OD initiatives such as commitment to competence development, initiatives for employee retention etc; Commitment to QHSSE priorities such as IP registration, recording accident statistics, mitigating risks etc and Any other criteria which add value to the business

In the first round of selection, 5 offices were nominated, subsequently all nominations were put to the secret vote by the regional management team to identify the best office for 2012.

Dag Schjerven, president & CEO WMS declared WSS Sri Lanka as the best office for 2012 in the presence of Bjoerge Grimholt, president WSS and Knut Brathagen, regional vice president AMB and the rest of the AOP workshop participants.

WSS Iraq and WSS UAE were declared as Best Office Runner-ups.

Majid Awn, general manager Sri Lanka accepted the best office award whereas Frank Olsen and Per Kristian Knutsen representing Iraq and Sondre Ajer representing UAE received the runner-up trophies.

Congratulations to WSS Sri Lanka for winning the best office award for 2012. I also congratulate WSS Iraq and WSS UAE for winning runner-up awards. I hope this award inspires all other offices in AMB region to get qualified and be a Winner next time” comments Knut Brathagen RVP.
