Container carriers in the Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement today announced that the planned general rate increase for dry cargo general rate increase will be implemented on Dec. 15, instead of Dec. 1, as was announced in October.

The TSA said the move “reconciles varying effective dates adopted ... by individual carriers to avoid confusion in the market, and more closely aligns the scheduled increase with year-end cargo trends”.

The recommended dry cargo rate increase is $400 per 40-foot-equivalent unit to the U.S. West Coast, and $600 per FEU to all other destinations.
