TNT Express, the leading global business to business express delivery company, is celebrating a prosperous 30 years of reliable services in Sri Lanka.

TNT Express is represented in Sri Lanka by Ace International Express (Pvt) Ltd., the express delivery arm of the prestigious Aitken Spence Group.

Over the past three decades, TNT Express in Sri Lanka witnessed many positive changes and developmental milestones that have put the company at the forefront of delivering service excellence.

The Express delivery provider has evolved from offering a limited express delivery service to a thriving business with international scope, offering a comprehensive product line. The company became the first courier company to achieve the ISO Certification status in 1997 and the only express delivery company that was granted the National Quality Award in 2004.

From small beginnings in 1981 as just another department within Aitken Spence Cargo (known at the time as Ace Cargo) manned by 3 people, today the workforce boasts more than 150 dedicated employees deployed in over 25 offices island-wide, and a fleet of over 50 vehicles.

Aitken Spence Cargo was the first company in this field to provide freight-forwarding services in Sri Lanka in the seventies. The strong relationship between TNT Express and Aitken Spence Cargo is built on a foundation of transparency, integrity and a strong commitment to service quality. By having TNT Express under its wing, Aitken Spence has attained the competitive edge it needs when providing customers with logistics solutions over an array of services.

Tim Frank, General Manager of TNT Express Middle East and Sub-Continent, commented: “The company’s track record of results and success is due to the hard work and dedication of every employee. We are now recognised as a major player in our industry ensuring customers a service that is both competitive and time guaranteed.”

Jerome Brohier, Country Manager of TNT Express Sri Lanka stated: “On the occasion of our 30th partnership anniversary with TNT Express, we are pleased to donate 30 patient trolleys to general hospitals across Sri Lanka.”

TNT Express is not only focusing on mastering its service delivery; it has also demonstrated a commitment to giving back to the world.

“Today, we are not  delivering  just documents and small parcels, we have expanded our services to cover the most complex supply chain solutions – warehousing, inventory management, multi-modal transportation, domestic distribution and on-demand delivery,” added Brohier.

Bryan Moulds, Managing Director for TNT Express Middle East, said: “TNT Express has always aimed to be the fastest and most reliable on-demand express delivery company through investment in people, processes, and technology. What started out 30 years ago in Sri Lanka as a small company has steadily grown into a business far exceeding customers’ expectations.”

A Director of the Aitken Spence Group and Managing Director of Ace International Express, Rohantha Peiris said, “TNT has emerged as one of the premier express companies in Sri Lanka, with international and domestic services that are unrivalled by the competition.  Having TNT under the Aitken Spence Cargo umbrella and our regional expansion to Bangladesh, the Maldives, Pakistan and India gives us a competitive edge, because customers can avail themselves of total cargo-logistics solutions that encompass a variety of services that can be tailor-made for them.”
