Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd has purchased a Snorkel TL37J trailer mounted boom lift to work at the Mahinda Rajapakse International Airport in Hambantota. The airport is Sri Lanka’s newest airport based in the south east of the country and its first Greenfield Airport. The Snorkel TL37J trailer mounted boom lift is designed to provide a safe working platform up to heights of 13 metres. This lift offers an excellent working envelope, which includes a 1.3 m jib boom for precise positioning of the platform. It also features hydraulic outriggers for simple machine set-up, smooth proportional controls for easy operation, and is available in a range of power options, including DC battery, AC mains, and bi-energy. The TL37J is the second Snorkel lift purchased by Airport & Aviation Services, who also recently took delivery of a Snorkel PAM26 10 metre push-around mast lift, which is already in use at Bandaranaike International Airport. Both lifts were sold by Hydromec International Ltd (formerly Allied Trading & Engineering Ltd), who are the official Snorkel distributor for Sri Lanka. Hydromec CEO Rajah Abeyasinghe personally tested and delivered the unit to the customer and the company has also provided operator training for the staff at Airport & Aviation Services.  Hydromec will provide comprehensive product support for both lifts in future. Hydromec began working with UpRight Powered Access in 2000, and have seven units working at the Smart Shirts facility. Snorkel lifts can also be found working at Sri Lankan Airlines, Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the American Embassy in Sri Lanka, Nobles Manufacturing, Pallekelle, amongst others.
