A joint seminar on “Managing Supply Efficiently” was held recently at the auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce targeting inventory, procurement, warehouse, shipping managers, senior, middle and junior managers and supervisors and other administrators responsible for the overall Supply Chain Management optimisation.
The seminar was organised by the Import Section of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Institute of Supply and Materials Management. The programme covered strategic purchasing, effective inventory control & warehousing and transport. The facilitators were Danesha Perera, President ISMM and Asst. Vice President, Central Purchasing Unit and Exports of Aitken Spence Hotel Managements (Pvt) Ltd.; Gayan Perera, Demand Planning Manager, Fonterra Brands Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., and Council Member of ISMM; and I.G.Perera, Management Consultant/Trainer and Vice President ISMM. Over 125 participants from leading private sector companies, the Sri Lanka Navy and Public sector organisations were present. Due to the overwhelming popularity of these seminars the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hopes to conduct further seminars in the near future.
