Hellmann clinches new contract in total supply chain logistics in fashion industry

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Ltd., one of the leading global forwarders, is in the process of an expansion drive of its vertical-based business solutions in Sri Lanka in the areas of fashion, automotive and healthcare and thus seals its newest contract with American and Efird Lanka Ltd.



American and Efrid Lanka is one of the world’s leading industrial sewing thread suppliers. They facilitate the backward integration of raw material supply to many key apparel exporters through 31 manufacturing centers and 76 distribution points in 41 countries

The scope covers management of its warehousing, and distribution and assisting in process improvements through ‘Global Expertise’ gained in fashion logistics.

Hellmann’s undertaking on inventory management also includes a completely automated IT system that provides visibility on material movement through bar-coded environment that assists with information for supply chain management team at site. Similarly, Hellmann’s SCM processes are too designed to maximise flexibility and ensure operational process reliability with the goal of improving its logistics operations.

Hellmann will also manage the reverse logistics process to retrieve goods from the delivery point and A&E will be able to simplify its logistics requirements. A&E believes that working with Hellmann will yield strong benefits including service-oriented solutions for its processors and delivery channels through enhanced security, efficient inventory handling, and personalised care ensuring that all agreed service level KPIs are achieved with their end customers. Hellmann Sri Lanka is a joint venture with Hemas Holdings Plc.
