Hapag-Lloyd said last week its vessels will be calling at the Port of Nagoya.

This decision has been made after careful consideration of the overall situation in North East Japan.

Hapag-Lloyd said it will continue to monitor developments at the Fukushima power plant and the risk of radioactive contamination very closely and will take further decisions as they become necessary on a daily basis.

At the same time Hapag-Lloyd takes its responsibility very seriously, to maintain highest safety standards in this matter as well as to ensure that sufficient import containers with needed goods, aid supplies and other cargoes are delivered to the recipients in Japan.
