Hapag-Lloyd has announced the launch of a new service from Vietnam to meet the needs of the trans-pacific East-bound trade.
Titled VAX new weekly call will serve Vietnam’s Vung Tau to Los Angeles with a transit time of 18 days.
The inaugural ship Mathilde Maersk will sail on 20 December.
Meanwhile Hapag-Lloyd also announced a rate restoration program – East Asia (excluding Japan) to Arabian Gulf with effect from 15 December.
The rate US$ 150 per TEU will be applicable for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia (excluding Japan) to Arabian Gulf.
Arabian Gulf covers ports in the UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia (Dammam and Riyadh via Dammam).
