Since then, SLAAR has earned itself a reputation for being a vibrant association that safeguards the interest of its members as well as the interest of the local airline industry. The Association has also maintained continuous healthy relations with various stakeholders of the industry that has led to key issues being resolved expeditiously, thereby causing the industry to forge forward in achieving many objectives that have benefited the industry and consumers.
At present the membership consists of 32 airline GSAs represented by senior managers of each organisation.
The aim of the Association is to foster co-operation, understanding, goodwill and fellowship with the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Airport & Aviation Services (S.L.) Ltd, the National Carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines and other stakeholders to promote growth and development of the industry in Sri Lanka.
Silva is supported by Shahnaz Nathani from Forbes Air Services Ltd, (GSA for Emirates), who was appointed as the Deputy Chairperson and a team of experienced and knowledgeable industry personnel who serve on the Executive Committee of the Association.
