Etihad Crystal Cargo – the cargo division of Etihad Airways – is preparing to launch a second weekly dedicated freighter operation between Abu Dhabi and Almaty in Kazakhstan.
The additional freighter service will commence 8 January 2012, using an Airbus A330-200F freighter with a payload of 59 metric tonnes.
“The success of our initial freighter service to Almaty which we launched back on 28 July has exceeded our expectations,” said David Kerr, Vice President of Etihad Crystal Cargo.
“Our twice weekly freighter operations to Almaty will continue to reinforce Etihad Airways’ position in the Kazakh market, on top of our three weekly passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Almaty. We look forward to strengthening the trade ties between the UAE and Kazakhstan through these increased operations.”
Etihad Crystal Cargo operates to a total of 82 destinations internationally, 10 of which are freighter only. The Crystal Cargo fleet consists of one Boeing 777 Freighter, two Airbus A330-200F, two Airbus A300-600F aircraft and two McDonnell Douglas MD11s.
