DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, has once again secured the Gold Award in the ‘Airfreight/Courier Service’ category at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards 2011, making it a third consecutive win in Asia. DHL also secured the Gold Award in seven countries- Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

The accolades awarded to DHL from the Trusted Brands Awards since 2004 are a further testament to consumers’ confidence in the DHL brand in Asia Pacific, and reinforce its market-leading position in the region.

Donna Attal, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing, DHL Express, Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, “Winning  the vote of confidence and trust from  the 8,000 consumers surveyed across Asia for the third year is no easy feat. We know how important it is to exceed expectations year after year in order to keep the trust of our customers and partners. As the international specialist in the global express business, DHL continues its commitment in strengthening customer loyalty and meeting the changing needs of customers in the 42 countries and territories we serve in Asia Pacific.”

DHL continues to dominate mindshare through established partnerships, particularly in providing logistics solutions for renowned global events. Since 2004, for instance, DHL has been the Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1™ providing logistics solutions for the fastest global sports attraction. With its global customs clearance expertise, DHL simplifies the logistics of Formula 1™ by ensuring fast-lane importation of racing cars as well as their replacement parts – engines, tires and spares. DHL also handles fuel requirements and additional freight, such as TV equipment, VIP tents, computer equipment, laptops as well as radio sets and headphones for communication purposes.

2011 also marks the brand’s partnership with IMG’s annual Fashion Week events for the fourth consecutive year, which spans 15 countries across four continents. New strategic partnerships such as DHL’s appointment as Official Logistics Partner for the Rugby World Cup 2011 and the Volvo Ocean Race 2011 – 2012 also add prominence to the brand’s abilities to deliver effectively against tight timelines and to inaccessible locations around the world.

“DHL’s solid standing in the survey shows that its brand name registers top-of-mind awareness among consumers. The awards are a solid testament that we are heading in the right direction and we are heartened to continue in our efforts to be customers’ first choice,” added Attal.

Inaugurated in 1999, the annual Reader’s Digest Asia’s Trusted Brands Awards aim to identify brands in Asia that have gained prominence and confidence among consumers. The survey is carried out in eight key markets in Asia – China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines – via mail questionnaires and telephone interviews with 8,000 consumers for 43 categories per country. Helmed by the world’s largest-selling magazine and independently conducted by Synovate, the survey is representative of the views of consumers in Asia, providing a credible source of review on the most trusted brands in the region.
