DHL Freight, one of the leading providers of road freight services in Europe, has launched a mobile app for customers to handle their road freight shipments. The application is called DHL ACTIVEBOOKING and allows its users to enter and manage Europe-wide orders even when they’re not in the office. The new app is free of charge and available for smartphones operating with iOS and Android.

“In our experience, customers expect mobile solutions and flexible services. With DHL ACTIVEBOOKING they’re now able to handle their shipments when on the move. It’s a major benefit for companies which manage just a handful of shipments every day, particularly small and medium enterprises,” explains Henning Goldmann, Senior Vice President Business Process Management, DHL Freight.

DHL ACTIVEBOOKING is based on the online platform DHL Intraship and allows registered users to generate standardised freight shipments in a fast and convenient way. Apart from the booking option, customers can also print labels directly from their mobile devices or forward labels via email. Entry orders can also be prepared offline.

The new app complements DHL ACTIVETRACING, the mobile extension of DHL Freight’s Track & Trace website. It offers an upgraded and uniform way to track shipments across Europe in near real-time. Customers receive up to 30 status information alerts from across the entire transportation chain, from pick-up to delivery.
