DHL Express, the world’s leading cross-border express service provider, recently held a gala event in Sri Lanka to honour outstanding employees at its annual ‘Employee of the Year’ awards.
The awards received nominations from all employees from South Asian countries and a panel of senior management adjudged the final awardees from each country. Fifty-two winners from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal across departments met and bonded with senior management at the two-day event in Sri Lanka.
The participants were involved in cross-cultural team bonding and entertainment activities at Heritance Kandalama which culminated in a glittering awards night at Waters Edge, Colombo. German Ambassador Dr. Jürgen Morhard was the guest-of-honour at the awards night.
An annual feature at employee recognition, the award is a part of an ongoing employee engagement process at DHL which strives to continually be an ‘Employer of Choice’.
DHL Express CEO - South Asia Malcolm Monteiro said: “We strongly believe that it is only with motivated employees that we can continue to provide the world-class service levels that we do today. The ‘Employee of the Year’ award is one of many initiatives to create a highly engaged workforce.”
Prakash Khulbe, a ground courier with DHL Express India said: “I feel proud that my efforts have been recognised and rewarded. My trip to the beautiful country of Sri Lanka was a once- in-a- lifetime experience.”
