Dimithri succeeds Manish Patel, who has moved into a regional role based in Singapore. Prior to this role, Dimithri was the National Commercial Manager at DHL Express Sri Lanka, a position he held since October last year. He joined DHL a decade ago as National Sales Manager.
Dimithri brings a wealth of experience to the Country Manager role, having consistently delivered strong sales results in the last three years as well as providing leadership in building a high-performing and highly-motivated commercial team.
DHL Express Southeast Asia and South Asia Senior Vice President Yasmin Aladad Khan said, “Sri Lanka is developing at a rapid pace and we believe our established presence in the country will grow even further with Dimithri at the helm. I am confident that with his strong leadership, commercial focus and in-depth understanding of the business, we will be able to capitalise on the tremendous business opportunities in the country and lead our business towards more robust growth in 2014 and beyond.”
Commenting on his new appointment, Dimithri said, “I am pleased and humbled by the opportunity to become DHL Express Sri Lanka’s Country Manager. In his 22-year career, Dimithri has worked in several industries ranging from IT, Automotive, Advertising/Media and Apparel. Prior to joining DHL, he was Head of Sales, Avery Dennison Sri Lanka, a position he held for five years.
Dimithri holds an MBA from the Sri Jayewardenepura University in Sri Lanka and is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. He is also a Certified Professional Marketer (Asia Pacific) from the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation.
