Colombo Dockyard represents Sri Lankan ship repair and shipbuilding at Nor-Shipping 2011

Sri Lanka’s pioneer Shipbuilding and Repair facility Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) participated at the one of the biggest International Shipping exhibitions “Nor-Shipping 2011” during May 24-27 in Oslo, Norway.  

This was the first time Colombo Dockyard has participated in this international shipping exhibition, which attracts the leading players in the marine industry world over.

Colombo’s aggressive marketing drive to attract international ship owners to utilise Colombo as a repair centre for their fleet repair requirements, while, this exhibition was utilised to showcase the Colombo Dockyard’s product portfolio of Offshore Support vessels AHT’s, MPSV’s to the international market. Colombo Dockyard has been proudly flying the Sri Lankan flag in many a global marine industry forums enhancing the “Made in Sri Lanka” brand for over three decades.

Norshipping exhibition has been a meeting place for global shipping fraternity; this platform has been a mode for Colombo Dockyard to promote the facilities and products to the European markets.   Given the positive developments in the country the and withdrawal of war risk premiums – many European clients are looking at Colombo positively as a potential repair/building facility. This year’s Nor-shipping has been one of the most successful events ever with the highest participation of industry visitors.
