After a successful round of discussions, a strong indication was given by CSCL senior officials who include the General Manager for Asia-Pacific Lines Division Jim Qian and Deputy General Manager for Asia-Pacific Lines Division Chen Zhi Qing, that they would resume servicing the fast growing Indian subcontinent early next year.
Ceyline officials also highlighted the new CICT Terminal, the only deep-water terminal in South Asia where CSCL’s ultra large vessels will be able to call, thereby making Colombo the best option for their strategic positioning in this region. CSCL General Manager Sui Jun stated that “CSCL has no doubt about the importance of establishing its business in Colombo, especially due to Sri Lanka’s strategic location and the country’s close friendship with the Peoples Republic of China.”
“The time factor however will be determined by our business activity in India,” he further stated.
Ceyline will be working closely with the CSCL regional office in Dubai and CSCL Indian agents to reactivate CSCL’s presence in the Indian subcontinent.
