The Centre for Customs & Excise Studies, University of Canberra (CCES) is offering a six-month Certificate Course in ‘International Trade and Logistics’ through its Regional Campus at the World Trade Centre, Colombo. This course leads to a Bachelors Degree and is considered the first stage.
This Certificate course is ideal for those engaged in the Import, Export, Shipping and Logistics sectors; those who wish to excel in a career in International Trade and/or Shipping and also school leavers.
The course is designed and delivered by the faculty of CCES, Australia and the core focus areas include: key concepts in International Trade and Logistics, Supply Chain and Logistics best practices and processes; international organisations and conventions concerning International Trade; Import - Export and Shipping (air/sea) procedures in Sri Lanka; Handling dangerous cargo and transhipment cargo and Presentation skills.
The course will be delivered via a blended learning mode: weekly classroom lectures (every Wednesday from 5:30 – 8:30pm), video lectures, group assignments, research and activities. Face to face teaching and video lectures will be conducted by the CCES, Australia faculty as well as CCES trained and qualified local faculty. The course fee is Australian Dollars 1,000. The same course would cost Australian Dollars 5,000 as tuition fee only, if a student were to follow this in Australia. At the successful completion of the course, the students receive the certificate from CCES, University of Canberra, Australia and can also continue to the next stage towards the Bachelors Degree.
