APL has won the Intra-Asia Best Shipping Line accolade at the 27th Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCAs) concluded recently.
Based solely on the highest number of votes received from readers of Cargonews Asia, the award lauds APL’s outstanding performance in schedule integrity, customer service support, as well as its comprehensive port calls in the intra-Asia trade.
“APL is honoured to have won this award, and we thank our customers for their strong belief in our commitment to service and operational excellence,” says APL President Kenneth Glenn.
With the International Monetary Fund predicting Asian economies to expand 5.7% on average this year, Glenn believes intra-Asia shipping activities will grow correspondingly.
“Shipping needs within Asia are likely to become more demanding as intra-region trade increases,” Glenn says.
“This means APL must continue to build on our extensive service network, as well as develop solutions that are more reliable and cost-effective for our customers,” he adds.
Organised by Cargonews Asia, a leading logistics and cargo supply chain publication, the AFSCAs are among the most prestigious and longest-running awards in the Asian transportation and logistics sector.
