The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) for Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and the Maldives Afreen Akhter visited the Port of Colombo recently and met Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman Keith D. Bernard and several higher officials.
At the discussions the Chairman briefed the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of the future developments and their potential to build the Port of Colombo, the maritime hub of the region.
