The E-Visible Supply Chain Magazine together with Lanka Clear organised an event on “disruptive technologies in the supply chain” last week at the Mahaweli Centre in order to educate its customers on why implementing technology is important to any process in the supply chain. Over 100 participants attended this event from over 75 corporate companies.
Lanka Clear GM/CEO Channa De Silva, who addressed the gathering, stated that the supply chain industry currently faces a rapid change in technology and companies need to adapt to such in order to ensure that they can keep up with their competition. This was followed by Naresh Abeyesekera who provided valuable insights onto the most common gaps and shortcomings in any Supply Chain Process.
He also spoke on the emergence of Blockchain Technology and its integration in a modern context. Next, Harsha de Silva from spoke on how the payment process in any system has now been simplified through the emergence of new technology in digital products such as Lanka Pay. The day concluded with an open forum which was conducted by a group of panellists which included Channa De Silva and Harsha de Silva of Lanka Clear, Conrad Dias who is a Board Member of the LOLC Group and CILT Chairperson Gayani De Alwis who acted as the Moderator.
