A high profile delegation of the United States (US) including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Ranz, US Ambassador Alaina Teplitz, US Embassy Colombo Political Officer Joanna Pichette, US Embassy Colombo Economic Chief Partha Mazumdar, US Embassy Colombo Economic Attaché Eduardo Garcia, SCA/RA Desk Officer for Sri Lanka, Jason Evans, SCA/RA Bureau Planner Jason and US Embassy Colombo Political Officer Marcus Carpenter made a special visit at the Port of Colombo on 13 December. The delegation was welcomed by Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake.
Dr. Dissanayake briefed the delegation of the recent developments at the Port of Colombo to become the maritime gateway in the region.
SLPA Managing Director Capt. Athula Hewavitharana, SLPA Additional Managing Director Upali De Zoysa and SLPA Harbour Master Capt. Nirmal Silva also attended the occasion.
