Zim has announced the launch of Mexico-Tampa Express (MTX), a new line serving the trade between Mexico, Florida and the Caribbean.

Through Zim’s regional hub in Kingston, Jamaica, MTX connects to Zim’s global network of services, covering both Atlantic and Pacific major trade routes and offering comprehensive and versatile shipping solutions to customers.

The new line, launched at the end of January 2011, operates 2 x 550-700 TEU’s vessels, on a weekly, fixed-day schedule with the following rotation: Kingston – Vera Cruz – Altamira – Tampa – Kingston.

The new MTX line offers an upgraded service with significantly improved transit time for customers in Tampa and Mexico. MTX links the Mexican trade to the DC corridors in the US, while offering customers a fast, convenient connection to Zim’s global network via Kingston.

Zim also continues to call Tampa with the South America Express Service (SAX), offering excellent transit time for the import cargo to Tampa and extensive coverage of major South American ports.

“The new MTX line is part of our ongoing efforts to attend to our customers’ needs and improve our services,” ZIM said.
