A senior delegation from the Shanghai Port Authority in China made a special inspection visit recently at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA).
The team from the world’s number one container port, on their exclusive visit at the SLPA, inspected its port operations and the latest state-of-the-art operations equipment, followed by a tour at the ongoing Colombo Port Expansion Project site.
At the visit of the Shanghai Port delegation in Colombo, Capt. Nihal Keppetipola – the Managing Director of SLPA – made a special presentation on the current port operations and the overall port development process implemented in the country.
With the implementation of a number of steps to enhance operations at the port at present, SLPA was privileged to have a senior delegation from the world’s number one Shanghai Port Authority in Sri Lanka.
Additional Managing Director of SLPA Norman Weerarathne, Chief Manager (Marketing & BD) of SLPA Upul Jayathissa, Deputy Chief Manager (Com. & PR) of SLPA Nalin Aponso and six top representatives from the Shanghai Port Authority in China including Director, Planning and Construction Division Lu Ping, Deputy Director, Laws and Regulations Division Cui Jianzhong, Deputy Director, Safety Supervision Division Chen Xianbiao, Principal Staff Member, Planning and Construction Division Cao Hongyu, Division Consultant, Personnel Division Shen Shuiping and Vice Chief, Shanghai Municipal Navigation Administration Chen Yingtong were also present at the occasion.
