“Why not a Macy’s in Sri Lanka?” is what EDB Board Director Rohantha Athukorala seems to be asking the CEO of the Macy’s Terry Lundgren who runs the billion dollar leading retail chain in the US- Macy’s at the WWD Global Apparel and Retail CEO Summit staged at the Plaza in New York,USA.
The EDB in collaboration with JAFF sponsored a segment to position Sri Lanka manufactured Apparel be known for its Ethical and sustainable manufacturing not just as a business standard but, as a way of life. This year’s CEO Apparel summit has attracted the cream of world’s business leaders such as Chairman Macy’s Terry Lundren, Ralph Lauren by person, Tommy Hilfinger, Google Vice President Marissa Mayer, e-bay President John Danahoe, Marketing Director Face Book Randi Zuckerberg, Pepsico Marketing Head Jill Berand and Four Seasons Head Kathleen Taylor, and CEO of Twitter Dick Costolo.
