War risk surcharge slapped on Libya

Hapag-Lloyd said last week it will implement a War Risk Surcharge on Libya with immediate effect.

This was as a consequence of the social unrest in Libya the operations at local terminals and as such the service pro forma schedules are affected.

Hapag-Lloyd will apply a war risk surcharge on all shipments to and from any port in Libya, called by Hapag-Lloyd vessels, by USD 85 per TEU or EUR 60 per TEU for for USA related trades. This is effective immediately for all remaining trades.

Emergency risk surcharge in East Asia to Persian Gulf service

Hapag-Lloyd said it will implement an Emergency Risk Surcharge (ERS) with effect from April 1, 2011 for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia (excluding Japan) to Persian Gulf by USD 41 per TEU.
