One of India’s foremost professors, B. Mahadevan of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, will elucidate insightful strategies for service organisations during a one day seminar scheduled to be held on 5May 2011, organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL).
The seminar will focus on enabling top corporate personnel in the likes of chairman, directors, CEOs, CFOs and senior management in financial services, manufacturing, hospitality/tourism, travel, healthcare and ICT to understand the conceptual and strategic issues pertaining to service aspects of business while relating it to practice.
During the seminar, Prof. Mahadevan, rated as one of the top five professors at IIM Bangalore, will provide insights and management strategies for service organisations, while also outlining directions in which growth options are explored in the services domain.
The primary objectives of the programme is to sensitise participants to the critical differences between managing a service organisation vs. products/manufacture and the implications of this, while highlighting the necessity to introduce few of the viable strategies for pricing of services, discuss challenges in managing service quality and to illustrate trajectories for service oriented growth strategies.
The seminar is specially designed to enable participants understand conceptual and strategic issues pertaining to service aspects of business and relate it to practice.
The ICASL decided to conduct a seminar on such a unique subject having understood the importance of service economy which is undergoing significant growth the world over, during the last decade.
