The First-ever Toastmasters’ Bak Maha Ulela was held at the Botanical Gardens – Gampaha on Sunday 3 April with the participants from all Toastmasters Clubs in Sri Lanka. The event was organised by Siyane Toastmasters Club.

There were about 100 families covering all areas of Toastmaster clubs. It was inaugurated with the lighting of traditional oil lamp and singing of the national anthem, followed by a food table with kiribath, kevum, kokis, etc. All traditional games had been organised and everybody from three-year-old kids to those over 60 took part in every possible event. Putting the eye on the elephant, pillow fight, tug of wars, musical chairs, balloon dance and passing eggs were among the events. The participants also got the opportunity to enjoy the best of nature. The event, which was a wonderful occasion for all toastmasters and families to move away from their busy schedules and enjoy themselves, will probably be included in the toastmaster calendar annually.
