President emphasises the need to streamline Western Province administration

President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday instructed the relevant officials to bring all administrative officers together and administer the Western Province more effectively.

The President gave this directive addressing the Progress Review meeting relating to Western Province Development at the Panadura Sri Sumangala College auditorium.

The President focused on the waste management issue in the Colombo District. He instructed the relevant officials to implement a proper solid waste management system to clear the huge loads of garbage piled up in the city.

He instructed the officials to find alternative solutions for the problems of the illegal dwellers. He further instructed the officials to confiscate all abandoned factories in the investment zones.

Ministers, Members of the Western Province Council, Government Agents, Secretaries to Ministries and other government officials were also present.
