The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) had its Convocation on 23 July, 2011 at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla.  It was the Institute’s largest Convocation where 438 graduates received their postgraduate qualifications.  The Convocation was presided over by the Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General, World Customs Organisation, Brussels.

PIM pioneered the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme in Sri Lanka over 25 years ago, and continues to conduct the country’s leading MBA programme.

Over the past three years, in particular PIM has restructured its MBA programme in response to emerging market trends and global best-in-class MBA programmes. The revised course structure and the course delivery modes, along with an extended faculty, make the PIM’s MBA programme a regionally competitive programme of study.

PIM’s postgraduate programmes, the MBA, the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Master of Customs Administration (MCA) programmes are aimed at transforming practitioners in to professionals. Not only does the programmes provide cutting-edge knowledge, but they also place great emphasis on the application of knowledge.

Hence, its slogan:  “Be an MBA.  Don’t just have an MBA”.
