In keeping with a pre-IPO promise to provide ICT access to rural Sri Lanka, PC House Plc (PCH) announced the expansion of their branch networks throughout the country. Four new branches were opened in Hambantota, Kilinochchi, Nelliady and Mannar. The Chief Guest at the opening of the Hambantota branch was MP Namal Rajapaksa.

Speaking at the event MP Rajapaksa said: “Many government organisations as well as local and international private sector organisations are investing in the Hambantota District. We are very thankful to PC House for joining us to bring ICT closer to our brothers and sisters in Hambantota. We know that it will assist them in their jobs and help mould future leaders of our nation. In the future we look forward to joining with you to go from village to village, city to city to educate more youth. We are also working towards introducing computer technology and internet facilities to schools in the district.”

Addressing the distinguished gathering, S.H.M. Rishan, Chairman of PCH said, “We are keeping our promise to bring ICT closer to the people of the nation in line with the Mahinda Chinthanaya’s promise to take IT to all corners of the island. This is a promise we made prior to launching our IPO that we are now accomplishing.”

A PCH Clinic was held at Hambantota for customers, giving them the opportunity to bring in their computers for basic maintenance and minor repairs free of charge. This day-long clinic was a great success with new and existing clients benefiting by this gesture.

Meanwhile an awareness programme was also held in Hambantota for teachers and Divisional Secretaries to educate them on the use of ICT. This highly successful interactive session helped PCH gain a feedback on the requirements of the needs of these school teachers and Divisional Secretaries which will help them to enhance the future of this region.

PCH is the new corporate brand identity for PC House Plc which was recently listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. The new brand identity reflects the change from a family owned business to a public company with a vision to be the benchmark for ICT in Sri Lanka.

PC House was incorporated as a limited liability company in the year 2000, after having commenced business in 1997. Its Board of Directors consists of S.H.M. Rishan, Mangala Boyagoda, Sarath Wikramanayake, Modarage Thilakasiri, Shanti Kumar Nadarajah, Kuvera de Zoysa and Sharmila Rishan.
