HSBC’s 0% convenient travel plan which offers credit cardholders an easy payment option with no interest and surcharge for up to 12 months, was reintroduced for the third time to offer customers affordability when travelling around the world.

The promotion which began in March 2011, gives HSBC credit cardholders the option to purchase airline tickets and travel packages at thirteen popular airlines and travel partners including Air Asia, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, Jet Airways, King Fisher, Malaysia, Mihin Lanka, Oman Air, Qatar and Singapore Airlines, SriLankan, Thai, Classic Travel, Gabo Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Hemas, Mackinnons and Sri Lankan Holidays or via any airline with an online reservation website to travel with peace of mind at a cost they can afford.

Nadeesha Senaratne, Head of Cards & Consumer Assets at HSBC commented, “This is a peak season for travel, where holiday makers are keen to visit Asian, European and Middle Eastern countries to rejuvenate or simply spend time with families during this holiday season. Hence, we are happy to make their travel experience more affordable and convenient, through this scheme. We hope our travel plans will allow cardholders to make time for themselves and explore the world.”

HSBC’s 0% interest free installment travel plan was first introduced in March 2010, to offer its loyal credit cardholders a chance to travel to their most preferred holiday destination without the burden of immediate payment. This resulted in a huge success with many credit cardholders reaping great benefits.

The promotion also allows cardholders to earn HSBC Rewards points for every transaction and have them redeemed on the frequent flyer programmes of Cathay Pacific, Qatar, Singapore Airlines and Kingfisher.
