The Health Ministry announced on Saturday that the Outpatients’ Departments (OPDs) of all the general, teaching and district hospitals of the country will be open until 8 p.m. daily from 15 November.
OPDs in hospitals presently function only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently directed the officials of the Ministry of Health to take immediate actions to keep the OPDs of the hospitals open round the clock.
The move will begin with the opening of the OPDs everyday until 8 p.m., a government spokesman said.
