NYK last week announced it will launch a new service to/from Asia into the Adriatic region via the China-Europe Shuttle service (CES) connecting over Taranto onto two Adriatic services, Adriatic Service 1 and Adriatic Service 2 (ADS1 / ADS2).
“This new service represents our commitment to grow and develop our products in tandem with our customers’ growing needs of covering Central and Eastern Europe from northern Adriatic gateway ports. It will expand our coverage from Asia to the northern Adriatic ports of Venice, Koper, Trieste, Rijeka and offers an important gateway to Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, Croatia, and north Italy,” NYK said.
Ports of call for CES/ADS1/ADS2 will be as follows:
<CES> Kaohsiung (Tue/Tue) – Qingdao (Fri/Fri) – Ningbo (Sat/Sun) – Shanghai (Sun/Tue) – Taipei (Wed/Thu) – Hong Kong (Fri/Fri) – Yantian (Sat/Sat) – Colombo (Sat/Sun) – Taranto (Wed/Thu) – Rotterdam (Wed/Thu) – Hamburg (Fri/Sat) – Thamesport (Sun/Mon) – Taranto (Mon/Tue) – Colombo (Sun/Mon) – Kaohsiung (Tue/Tue)

The new service commenced with the westbound voyage of CES leaving Kaohsiung on 28 December 2010. The first eastbound sailing will be the CES leaving Taranto on 8 February 2011.
“We will continue to make every effort to further strengthen our service network to best meet the customers’ needs,” NYK said.
