New Regional Board and Management Committee of CIM Sri Lanka Region appointed

The 15th Annual General Meeting of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region which was held on 9 December 2010 at Hotel Galadari saw the appointment of Chitrangani Herat-Gunaratne, Vice President, Quantum Strategic Services Pvt. Ltd. as the new Chairperson.

In her inaugural speech, Chitrangani pledged that her team would forge ahead in creating salience for the CIM brand through many programmes and invited members to take an active role in the institute’s activities.

Dr. Rohan M. Fernando, Director Head of Business Development and Plantation Aitken Spence PLC, was appointed Honorary President of the Institute.

The Regional Board comprises Immediate Past Chairperson Roshani Cooray – Senior General Manager, Lanka Bell (Pvt) Ltd.; Senior Vice Chairman Ravi Wijenathan – General Manager at MAS Intimates (Pvt) Ltd., Slenderline, Vice Chairperson; Nadi Dharmasiri – Asst. General Manger – Marketing, Asian Alliance Insurance PLC, Secretary; Amal Perera – General Manager Marketing and Customer Management Functions – Aviva NDB Insurance and Regional Treasurer; and Shantha Katipearachchi, Senior Manager Commercial Business Development – Union Assurance PLC.

Other Members of the Board include Ajith Medis – Head of Marketing Management and Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya; Asanga Ranasinghe – Marketing Director Home Care and Foods at Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd.; Anuradha Edirisinghe – Senior Customer Manger – Modern Trade of Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd.; Varuni Vanderpoorten, Assistant Manager – Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Brands NDB Bank; and Brian Selvanayagam, Director of On’ally Holdings PLC.

The team will focus on five key areas during their tenure of office – namely, education, membership development, corporate and industrial integration, public affairs and communications and networking and relationship.

Ltd.; Rajiv David, Brand Manger – Ceylinco Life; Shimali Goonewardane – Research Manager Quantum Strategic Services (Pvt) Ltd.; Muditha Hewawanitunga, Business Development Manger Continental Insurance; Sujith Silva, Director Sales MBC Networks (Pvt) Ltd.; Trevine Miranda, Assistant Customer Manager – Modern Trade – Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd.; Harsha Subhashana, Manager Business Development; and Tharanga Wijekoon, Executive, T&S Buttons – Subsidiary of Brandix Group.
