Nawalakanda Super sets new Low Grown Record once again

Nawalakanada Super Tea Factory once again established an all time record price for FBOP1 grade at Rs.4210 on 25 January 2011.

The tea auction was conducted by Anushka Mohotti of John Keells Plc. The previous record price established on 19 October 2010 for this grade was Rs.4010. 

The estate which is owned by Anura Peiris has been Sri Lanka’s third largest single tea producing factory for the past one and a half decades. This tea factory which is renowned for producing teas with unique characteristics is situated in the village of Nawalakanda which is about 200 metres above sea level, about 15km off the Pelmadulla-Embilitiya main road.
