Nasheed meets Mahinda

The President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed met his Sri Lankan counterpart President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees in Colombo on Saturday.

“President Nasheed had a luncheon meeting with President Rajapaksa and held discussions on matters of mutual interest” an official said.

President Nasheed was in India on a three-day official visit to participate in the inaugural session of the World Conference on ‘Recreating South Asia: Democracy, Social Justice and Sustainable Development’ on Thursday.

Several Cabinet ministers were associated in the high level talks on bilateral issues with President Rajapaksa at theTemple Trees.
