N.U. Jayawardena Reading Room for scholars and students of Buddhism

The establishment of the Deshamanya N.U. Jayawardena Reading Room for scholars and students of Buddhism at the Bambalapitiya Vajirarama Temple will commence shortly.  This project is part of the restoration of the historic library of this temple.

 The reading room is being established by the N.U. Jayawardena Charitable Trust in memory of the late Deshamanya N.U. Jayawardena. Here a representative of the N.U. Jayawardena Charitable Trust M. D. D. Peiris hands over a donation on behalf of the Trust for the Reading Room to L. Kalubowila, treasurer of the Siri Vajirarama Karyasadhaka Samithiya. The Ven. Thirikunamalaye Ananda (Amarapura Dharmarakshitha Nikaya Anunayaka Thera), Olcott Gunasekara Chairman of the Siri Vajirarama Karyasadhaka Samithiya and other members were present at the event. The 103rd birthday of the late N.U. Jayawardena fell on 25 February.
