MISC Berhad has announced that it has recently ordered 2,000 units of 40 foot high-cube reefer containers to cater to the increasing demand from its customers, especially reefer exporters.

These reefer boxes are expected to be delivered to MISC in November 2010 and will be used for shipment of temperature controlled products including fruits and fresh commodities. This facility will bring tremendous value to MISC’s reefer customers and its partners in ensuring their cargoes are delivered to their intended destinations in a sound and excellent condition.

MISC is a leading carrier for Halal produce and products in the Intra Asia and Oceania regions and dedicated in providing excellent quality services to its customers. The purchase of the reefer containers is in line with MISC’s business expansion to strategically position its Liner business as a key player in the intra-Asia market, especially in the niche Halal market, where reefer containers are in great demand.

To date, MISC has also taken several innovative steps to fine tune its presence in the Asia and Oceania markets through the strengthening of its Halal Express Services (HE1 & HE2) and through the introduction of three new services, namely the Malaysia East Asia Service (MES), East India Service (EIS) and Siam Singapore Shuttle (SSS) which connects their strong agency networks in the strategic regions between Far East, India Sub-Continent, ASEAN, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
