Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. (LBSI) the local office of the global advertising network Leo Burnett Worldwide, recently celebrated 14 years of creative supremacy in Sri Lanka and has repeatedly delivered results for its client partners. The agency has grown exponentially into one of the most acclaimed and awarded ad agencies in the country today and has also successfully added several new clients to its roster.
The agency team gathered to commemorate the company’s anniversary and to celebrate the journey. A cross section of team members representing the diversity of the company participated in the lighting of the oil lamp heralding an auspicious start to another successful year, which was followed by a traditional milk rice breakfast.
Addressing the gathering Managing Director Ranil de Silva stated: “Leo Burnett has grown from its humble beginnings to its current stature and have gained numerous accolades over the years. The last year was especially phenomenal as we were named by Campaign Asia the Agency of the Year in South Asia. I would like to recognise and thank my outstanding team for their commitment, passion and hard work which has led the company to its success. What we have achieved in our fourteen year history augurs very well for a rewarding future.”
To mark this special occasion 10 Burnetters who had contributed to the company’s growth and success were also awarded promotions. Speaking of the promotions, Ranil stated that the key to the success of the company has always been the hard work and passion of all the Burnetters on the team. He also stated that he took pride in developing young talent to leadership positions as this has always been the corner stone of our success.
The team at LBSI celebrates a monumental year with numerous award wins at Goa Fest and Adfest. In addition, Subhash Pinnapola, Executive Creative Director and Murtaza Tajbhoy, Head of Planning at LBSI were both awarded runner up awards for ‘South Asia Creative of the Year’ and ‘South Asia Account Person of the Year’ respectively by Campaign Asia.
The agency also bought home Sri Lanka’s first Cannes Lion award, for the ‘Paper Flag’ campaign from the world’s most prestigious awards festival. In addition, LBSI was recently awarded an ‘8 Ball’ by the Leo Burnett Global Product Committee (GPC) at which Leo Burnett offices from around the world submit their creative work every quarter for evaluation by a global team of agency leaders who come together to discuss, debate and rate the work produced by the agency’s network of offices from around the world. Each of these successes is a true testament of the strength and capability of the Leo Burnett office in Sri Lanka as a leading performer in the industry both locally and regionally.
