Lenovo’s global creative advertising pitch is entering its final round with three agencies — ThinkPad incumbent Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi and CPB — shortlisted as the company prepares to launch a new range of products.
The account for the Chinese personal computer manufacturer, which is the world’s fourth-largest, is estimated to be worth close to US$100 million. The pitch was reported in November last year.
As well as introducing a new range of ThinkPad and IdeaPad products, the company is aiming to compete with tablet producers such as Apple with the introduction of an Android-powered tablet, Le Pad. The product will initially be available in China.
Last year, the company entered the smart phone arena with the launch of Le Phone.
The company appointed former HP marketing head David Roman as SVP and chief marketing officer in March.
