Foremost Books will launch “Mechanics of International Trade” a book by Ananda Liyanage on 12 November at 4.30 pm at the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL), College of Banking and Finance Auditorium at 1081, Maradana Road, Borella. The Sinhala translation by Jayanthi Samarasekera will also be launched at the same ceremony.

International Trade has today assumed a far greater significance in the daily lives of the people than ever before.

The watchword ‘Export or Perish’ has been adopted by the state to indicate its importance in an open economy. Yet sadly there had been a dearth of any reading material up to now to convey the importance of this phenomenon.

This long felt void has now been filled with the book “Mechanics of International Trade” (A guide with special reference to Sri Lanka) authored by Ananda Liyanage a onetime banker and subsequent trainer. He is a much sought out lecturer on International Trade at various institutes and institutions.

This easy to read and understandable book has been written with the many participants of International Trade in mind especially the general reader who are the consumers of goods and services traded internationally and thereby the first and most important link in the chain of international trade.

Foremost Books invite bankers and others involved in International Trade to participate at this event at which the former Chairman of the IBSL and a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and writer W.A. Wijewardena will be the Chief Guest. Copies of the book can be obtained for a discount price on this day.
