Lankem Paints awarded ISO 9001:2008

First and only paint company to receive all valid certifications to date

Lankem Paints Ltd. was recently awarded the prestigious ISO9001:2008 certification in recognition of its Quality Management Systems in all activities related to the manufacture of paints, varnishes and ancillary products.

It thus becomes the first and the only paint manufacturing company in Sri Lanka to receive all valid certifications to date.

Director of Lankem Ceylon PLC, Ruwan T. Weerasinghe said: “We are undoubtedly delighted with this prestigious certification. Lankem Paints has been a leading manufacturer and marketer of decorative paints since 1984, under the brand name of Robbialac. Its product range of Robbialac comprises Emulsions, Enamels, Weather-coat, Elastometric Paints, Acrylics, Primers, Wood Preservatives and ancillaries. Lankem Paints also manufactures adhesives for the woodwork/carpentry industry under the brand of Epi Fix.

Lankem Paints goes on record as being the first paint manufacturing company to receive the ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2002 in recognition of its Quality Management System at the Robbialac paint factory in Ekala.

It is also the first and only paint company, to date, to receive the Certificate for Cleaner Production and Environmental Awareness (CCPEA) of SMED Sri Lanka.

Lankem Paints also was the first and only paints manufacturing company in Sri Lanka to receive the prestigious ISO 14001:2004 Certification in recognition of its Environmental Management System and SLSI certificate from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.

Lankem Paints is the only Paints company in Sri Lanka to have SLS, ISO14001:2004, ISO9001:2008 and SLS certifications.
