CIMA Sri Lanka Division has announced an evening workshop titled ‘Manage your Personal Portfolios’. This workshop is a follow up of a CIMA Business Brief held earlier this year which was patronised by many business leaders.
This workshop will help one sharpen their focus, enable them to outperform the market and obtain sustainable returns. The objective of the programme is to give an understanding of how to achieve sustainable returns on investment.
Topics on risks, returns, risk management, performance measurement and control will be addressed. Participants will get an understanding of the practical approach to evaluate companies, make strategic decisions and manage their own portfolio in an informed manner
Contents of the programme include types of investments; personal financial life cycle; investment objectives; why equity; what type of funds to be invested in equity market; understanding the macro picture; alignment of risk with objectives and expectation; building up a portfolio of choice; company analysis; buying and selling decision; monitoring and measurement of returns; building an INDEX and risk/impact analysis
Workshop leader Lasintha Ferdinando is a banker by profession with over 20 years hands on experience in development banking, commercial banking, life insurance and investment banking (margin trading and debt securitisation).
He presently works as a Senior Manager, Project Management and engaged as a team member of a core banking solution implementation. In addition he manages an equity portfolio in his personal capacity which in turn has generated double returns against the equity market growth in a sustainable manner.
