LEO Burnett Solutions Inc.(LBSI), the Sri Lankan office of the internationally acclaimed advertising Agency network Leo Burnett Worldwide, is well reputed for breaking new ground and leaving no stone unturned in its quest for excellence.

The company’s latest addition is Joono Simon, a highly acclaimed Creative Leader whose work has been recognised and rewarded in the international arena. Joono Simon took the mantle of Chief Creative Officer at the Colombo office of Leo Burnett.

Joono Simon has won over 40 international awards, and has been a key component of renowned advertising agencies such as JWT, Mudra DDB and SSC&B Lintas amongst others in India.

Amongst his numerous achievements is his work for the Red Cross that was given a place in the Cannes Hall of Fame in 2005. It quickly became the most viewed ad in the public service domain and brought JWT India its first Cannes win since its inception 75 years ago.

For Joono, the win catapulted him to the hallowed echelons of JWT’s Global Creative Council. He followed it up the next year with a bold promotion idea for the launch of the Pepsi Cola Company’s new snack ‘Kurkure’.

Joono’s entry to Sri Lanka comes at an interesting time when the advertising industry is taking some meaningful steps forward.

“Sri Lanka is metamorphosing” observes Joono, “Sri Lanka is metamorphosing. Tourism is fast picking up. Investors want to move in as it is opportunity time for businesses and industries as well. The country is now brimming with optimism, having put the war behind. The government is actively encouraging progress and development. These are exhilarating times in Sri Lanka and what better place to be in than Leo Burnett, in a country that is turning around?”
