Four extremely lucky winners walked away from Jetwing House with wide smiles on their faces, each carrying their prize; a night’s stay on full board basis at either the recently launched Jetwing Sea, or the eagerly awaited Jetwing Blue both in sun kissed Negombo.
The winners were all participants of Jetwing Hotel’s wildly successful Facebook campaign, which began on the 10 December 2010 and ended on the 15 January 2011. Leveraging on the growing impact of social media networks, Jetwing Hotels and their online partner eMarketing Eye concluded the campaign with a staggering 10,000 fans from an initial base of 700, an increase of over a 1000%. This makes Jetwing Hotels the first ever Sri Lankan resort chain to achieve such an increase, especially in the space of a little over a month!
Hiran Cooray, Chairman of Jetwing gave away the prizes, to Jeevani Jayawardena, Alberto Palomo, Thatuka Ramodhya, and Inosha Fernando.
“We decided on holding such a campaign in order to strengthen our position online; especially due to the increased trend towards marketing through social media. At the same time we wanted to reward our loyal fans, and give them the opportunity of being among the first to experience Jetwing Blue and Jetwing Sea. Initially, the promotion was only to select two winners, however due to its success we extended it to four, and this is just the first of many more to come,” said Hiran.
