The Colombo District Court yesterday (22) issued an interim injunction preventing Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association from taking any steps to hold the 2011 Under 20 Inter School League Rugby Football Tournament, depriving South Colombo Science College team of the right to participate.
District Court Judge W.R.R.N.Wathugola also issued another interim injunction preventing it from taking any steps to hold the said tournament without complying with the resolution passed by the general memberships of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association at the Special General Meeting held on 4 November last year.
The Court issued notices on the respondents returnable on 4 April.
Manoj Bandara instructed by Sudath Perera Associates appeared for the plaintiffs the South Colombo Science College of Mount Lavinia and its Principal Ananda Nagasinghe.
The plaintiffs cited Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association, its President Ranjith Chandrasekera, its Secretary Susantha Mendis, its Treasurer N.L.Wettewa and its Tournament Secretary Gamini Sarathchandra as the defendants.
